Don't worry about the location. Don't worry about atmosphere. You go for the food. If you're a foo-foo eater, don't go. Also, don't wear nice clothes. You may be wearing stains from your food. But that just means you can taste them later. Mmmmmmmmm
No trip to San Antonio is complete without a trip to Chris Madrid. Always good food! Outdoor and indoor dining . Great burgers and French fries!
Ok, please DONT let the exterior of this place deter you. I will admit, as guests in the city...we got a little bit frightened...but opted to GO inside and see what all of the hub-bubb was about. Boy, am I glad we did!!!!
We mainly got burgers...Tostado, Porkys, Flam, Jap, and Old Fashioned.

Finally got to try Chris Madrid's Tostado Burger and I was not disappointed. This is what a classic burger should be. Great cheese, lots of grease, and plenty of refried beans. Sitting outside on a beautiful Spring evening added to the experience. Fries are well made and fresh, not frozen. One regular order will handle a group of 3 or...

The Cheese, The Cheese, The Cheese....did I mention the cheese? Mmmmmm.....good.
I was pretty much done at the cheese, but trip advisor wants me to add at least 100 word so let me talk about the cheese some more. First of all the cheese sits on the patty and its real cheesy and melty and good. Its between some buns...

We stayed in San Antonio for 4 days on the Riverwalk and the one and only time we took the car out was to go to Chris Madrid's because some friends told us we HAD to eat here. We really enjoyed this place. We went early (a theme for everywhere we go on vacation, as we don't like lines!) and...

This restaurant was recommended to us by strangers we met while in San Antonio. We took a chance and we are so glad we did. Very casual. Long lines. But they move quickly. And the food was terrific. You must have the specialty - a tostado burger. Huge, messy and delicious. One basket of french fries was enough for our whole...

Be prepared to line up for these unbelievably delicious burgers. Is there a such thing as too much cheese? Yes, but don't tell the folks at CM's because they cross that line and somehow pull off one of the best burgers in the city.
It is not located next to anything other than houses. Five minutes from the heart of downtown, but a trip is worth it. Always check hours. Their burgers are made from some secret ingredients that can not be matched. I prefer the tostada burger that comes with chips, meat, pico, massive amounts of cheese and more.
