My meal was outstanding; great Caesar salad and pappardelle with braised duckling, excellent wine. My daughter is experimenting with vegan and ordered a plate of roasted vegetables, which are used in other dishes, and was charged $6 more than my entree because it's a "special order." When we questioned our waitperson she said the kitchen told her that's what it... More

It has been 4 weeks since I returned from yet another medical conference in Santa Fe, NM. One extremely pleasant surprise was the discovery of Il Piatto restaurant at 95 West Marcy Street, not far from the Plaza. An Italian restaurant/bistro with a New York-trained (non-Italian) chef. My wife and I stumbled upon their Happy Hour/which runs from 4:30 until... More

Il Piatto buys fresh, local ingredients for their meals through Farm to Table's Farm to Restaurant program. The Farm to Restaurant program promotes a viable food system in Northern New Mexico by helping small to mid-sized farmers sell their products to Santa Fe restaurants, and by helping these restaurants source the highest quality, most nutritious and flavorful ingredients for customers... I live in Santa Fe and travel to Italy often. Il Piatto was once my favorite Italian restaurant in Santa Fe. However, last night I had not only a very bad meal (really strange mixture of Italian ingredients that don't work together and food served cold), but some of the worse service ever. Sorry to say, I won't be recommending... More

Il Piatto has long been a favorite of mine in Santa Fe. The food is always superb, the service excellent and the atmosphere just perfect if you want to feel like you're dining in a rustic Italian farmhouse. Yesterday I celebrated my birthday there with a luncheon of six girlfriends, and I'm happy to say that Il Piatto is still... More

This is a place that really cares about the food it services. The owner buys local organic food, it is well prepared and is reasonably priced. Attentive service also! More

Lovely, lively little restaurant with great changing menu. Be sure to reserve early & if the specials sound good, reserve those as well as they sell out. More

Terrific Happy Hour from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. daily, along with other special deals. The grilled calamari is a delicious alternative to fried. A varied wine selection. My only criticism is that I have experienced food served less than hot enough, in terms of temperature. More

Il Piatto is a charming, quiet restaurant with the appeal of a neighborhood bistro. The place is decorated nicely, and the space arranged well, so you don't sit right next to the other tables. They have a moderately priced, but nicely varied wine list and a wide selection of menu items. I'm not a vegetarian, but the pumpkin ravioli sounded... More
