Stopped in for a quick lunch. We met Jimbo himself! Very nice, friendly and humble guy! It was our first time to the restaurant, so he gave us some very nice suggestions as to portion and selections. Everything was really delicious! The "homemade" was delicious..just the right firmness/chewy texture you expect from quality udon! The tenpura was also very good!... More

Top notch noodles on King St. -- authentic Japanese cuisine, local flavor, quick service and good prices. Always popular with kids and families.

there are many Japanese restaurants in Honolulu, but Jimbo is one of a small handful that I return to repeatedly because the food is good and the prices are reasonable. I prefer their soba, but my Mother (who was born and raised in Japan) assures me that their house made udon noodles are excellent as well. The noodles are always... More

Needed a break from a busy and stressful day and we thought about noodles. This was our second visit to Jimbo's -- the Japanese Noodle restaurant on King Street. On a cool (OK, cool for Honolulu), rainy evening we needed some warming comfort food. While I do confess, I know nothing about Japanese food, except for maybe the difference be... More

We come here every time we visit Oahu as they have the best noodles ever. The homemade skinny udon is amazing as our the curry soups. Fried or grilled mochi on top is literally like icing on the cake. A side of bacon fried rice and you are good to go. You'll never look at a bowl of noodles the... More

Unassuming restaurant that does Japanese udon noodles very very well. In fact, they make their own! So it's a real treat to be able to find hand-made udon in Honolulu. Noodles always cooked just right! You can have it in hot soup, cold as a refreshing dish, or fried Chinese style. Service is efficient. Because this is so good, there... More

Located back in the corner of a small strip mall on King St., this restaurant caters mostly to locals. The udon is made fresh every day. Firm, silky udon noodles in rich and tasty broths... It is a place that is a little difficult to find, but worth the search. We arrived as it opened for the dinner rush and... More

With all the noodle houses in Honolulu, you would think it never necessary to return to the same one. Until you discover Jimbos. A small place on the site of the fondly remembered Kings Bakery, the only noodles they make are udon---silky udon noodles, with just the right amount of "bite". They offer 20+ different preparations of udon---each one delicious.... More

Good value and variety. Parking is limited in the front lot (King St. side), but there is also parking in the back (Young St. side). Go early, or be prepared to sign in and wait.

I have tried noodles everywhere I travel and Jimbo's has the best! The staff may not speak a lot of English and we felt a little out of place being the only white people in there but who really cares anyway! The owner even came out and went around talking to each table. When he came to ours he sat... More
