Superb coffee (Urban Grind of Christchurch), hot chocolate which came with a huge bar of dark chocolate and a really amazing slice of baked cheesecake. The whole cafe is very open, airy, and well-designed. An great place to spend a relaxing afternoon.

Nice atmosphere and great staff. Anything from breakfast and great coffee to great rissotto, gnocci and good wine. There is a sunny little spot out the back and a cool little bar on a mezzanine upstairs.

Wow - The muesli for breakfast was just fantastic. My wife had the Spanish omelette which she loved too. The gourmet pizzas were cooked just right and the flavors were beautifully combined, as... More

This cafe has everything right from friendly staff to great value food and taste, plus a fun atmosphere, great music interior design. Take your time there, read the paper, look out at the view. A great place to chill.

I dined alone at Urban Grind tonight at felt completely comfortable. Lovely waitstaff and excellent food. I had the side of Silverbeet, yoghurt, tahini and spring onions ($7)as a starter with earl grey tea($4). The baked blue cod with and tomatoes, capers and olives ($27)was delicious. I stopped by and asked the chef what the mystery ingredient was - the... More

Booked for dinner with friends on a public holiday ( no surcharge). We arrived and were greeted immediately. Lovely relaxed decor and atmosphere. No excessive noise, even though the restaurant was full. Ordered entrees for three of the party which were good. Mains were also very well presented and tasted great. We did not plan to have desert, however the... More

Very surprised to see that this is #12 on Trip Advisor. I think it deserves a higher ranking. This is the cafe I wish we had in our suburb. Funky decor, good service, varied menu, open all day. We visited three times in a two night visit: dinner, breakfast & coffee. Great tapas and pizza, and the spot at front... More
