The trattoria is located in a narrow street in Modica Bassa just a few metres away from Corso Umberto, the main road. The ambience is rustic and traditional which renders the place quite unique. The menu comprises a wide selection of traditional Modican food. The mixed antipasto, pasta with homemade pesto, polpette (meatballs), spezzatino di carne (meat stew), coniglio (rabbit)... More

after a long drive across sicily, we arrived in modica, and had the recommendation from the owner of our hotel to try this place for dinner. as it was a short walk in a quaint alley nearby, we were a little tired, and ready for some simple modican food. we were immediately charmed with the simple kitchen atmosphere, and the... Order the antipasti della casa - one for 2 - they don't push you to order. Great way of trying the local specialities. Only came to 23 euros for 2 for the whole meal and that was because we decided to have dessert!!!!!

A Putia ro Vinu is an excellent place where you can taste the real old Modicana Cusine at a very good price and, if you book your table, with a decent time of waiting! The atmosfere is cosy and the place is very friendly. Get the antipasto della casa and you will feel already in heaven!

I don't understand why this isn't number one on the list! We arrived to an informal friendly welcome and a menu with a good choice. We ordered the antipasti for 2 (1 really would have been plenty), a primo each (the lightest gnocchi ever) and a secundo each. We struggled to finish and had to forgo the dolci, sadly. Mezzo... More

We returned to A Putia last year and revisited in April. I can't find anything bad to say and lots that is good, or excellent. There is no downside with this traditional Sicilian gem. The service is great, the food wonderful and a nice change from 'standard' Italian fare and your money goes a long way too. What more could... More

Be prepared to walk a bit to get to this small restaurant that serves local cuisine. A friend was visiting from Northern Italy and wanted to experience our typical cuisine and she enjoyed it very much. We started with a plate of cheeses as well as a mix of typical "antipasto modicano" which consisted of focaccia (not focaccia bread but... More

Good local food, well cooked, at reasonable prices with decent local wine, in a quirky restaurant tucked away in a side street in Modica.

After a couple of visits, I finally worked out how to deal with the huge portions - order them to share - otherwise you won't have room for dessert. All the pasta dishes I've tried have been good, especially the one offered as a special when the one I ordered from the menu wasn't available. The secondi piatti are big... More

After eating here I expected to find this as the #1 Trip Advisor restaurant in Modica - I can't imagine that there would be any better. It's not, even though the reviews are very good as expected. The fare included an expansive antipasti plate for €5 that we were able to split. It included salamis, rice balls, olives, breads, capers,... More
