This is our second visit to Holbox. We met Chef Leo and his staff on our very first day and have been dining there ever since. He is so creative. Lobster ceviche, a warm tantalizing octopus main course, delicious soups, specially-made Huaraches with three different toppings, Chicken in mole sauce. It was all divine.

Great food and absolutely excellent and friendly service. Seafood soup is the best on the island. Ceviche to die for!

While the service can be slow by American standards, it's worth the wait. Chef Leo is a professional chef who makes the best fish with garlic sauce or salsa veracruzana. It's always hard to choose so ask for a side of both.

Stopped in for a shrimp in salsa with chips, and some guacamole; by far the best shrimp we had on the island over ten days. Most seafood on the island tasted surprisingly fishy, but not this place. Shrimp was excellent, and the people very friendly. They implored us to come back and try to the seafood soup but we ran... More

Maybe the best food for the price. Very Mexican and very good. I had the grilled fish and followed their advice on how it should be prepared; it was perfect! They treated us like kings; I'm not sure they get alot of American clients...

Great home-made food, her specialty is the seafood soup (sopa de mariscos), which was outstanding. Service was excellent, the owner - cook - waitress was adorable, and *very* serviable. And all of the was at an excellent value

We stayed in Holbox for one marvelous week Aug 20-26, 2012, and ate at Zarabanda every single dinner. If you happen to be lucky enough to land on this corner of paradise, you cannot miss eating fish at Zarabanda. It is by far THE BEST RESTAURANT on the island. The chef, Leo, is a true gentleman from Veracruz, a city... More

Leo, the owner/chef of this little restaurant near the city square seemed genuinely happy that we chose to have dinner there. The decor was pleasant; the dining room very clean; service was extraordinary (Leo's wife I believe); and the fresh, local seafood was expertly prepared as ordered. Prices were good (very reasonable) too.
