Description: The Guardian has called it 'the best restaurant in France', and Htel Jean-Paul Jeunet was voted 'Establishment of the Year 2006' by the prestigious restaurant guide Gault Millau so its safe to say that the 2-Michelin-starred Restaurant Jean-Paul Jeunet in Arbois is a highly desirable dining destination. Tucked away in a far-flung corner of Jura, the restaurant is renowned for Jeunet's light, contemporary cuisine which is filled with flavours from yesteryear. Best known for using traditional ingredients in exceptional ways, Jeunet's signature dishes include foie gras poached in Macvin caramel; buttered snails cooked in liquorice flavoured bouillon; and warm chocolate soup flavoured with pine bark. The rustic dining room decorated with colourful canvases and an open Franche-Comt fireplace - exudes an atmosphere of hushed awe, and this divine establishment is guaranteed to impress even the most spoiled gourmands.

Returned again to JP Jeanet. As on each of the previous trips, the service was faultless, the food excellent and the prices reasonable for what you get. If you stick to local wines and consult the sommelier, you will experience wines at very good prices that compliment the food perfectly. Given the two stars, the expectation level is always high,... Came to the region to visit the Jura wineries before heading to Burgundy and saw all the stars in Michelin guide. We had a large group so I got to sample much of the menu. While the food was excellent, it did not blow me away. Service was very slow and turned into a very long dinner and not a... More

The fod is so tasty as usual in the jura, andperfectly cooked . I only disagree in the exagerate fluffy service, with a waitress that spoke too much, too many amouse bouche, an exagerated choice of bread and cheese. I go to a starred restaurant to have an experience of the chef's taste, I really do not see the point... More

This is the 5th time we have been to JP Jeunnet. Each time we go back, we are afraid that it will not be as good as we recall. So far it always has been. Fantastic food and reasonably priced wines, especially if you stay with the extensive list of local wines. They always have excellent sommeliers and we normally... More

Amazing value for money for the 100 E menu. Friends and family had a blast - even our 2 1/2 child. Flawless cooking and food - left us light and happy. I especially enjoyed the simple yet efficient service - not stuffy at all. I left the wine selection to the Sommelier who found a great bottle at a very... More

This Michelin 2-star restaurant was probably not quite on top form this (Sunday) evening. First the (very) good news: the food we actually ordered was superbly cooked, using fresh ingredients; the sommelier advised us wisely; we were delighted by the excellent value for this splendid evening (just under €100 per head, including excellent wine). Both the Bresse chicken starter and... More

Food exceeded my expectations; 8 course lunch €200 for two i felt excellent value for money given tit quality. With three waiting staff and the Somiler attending to each course, the service was obviously implacable. They happily accommodated our two year old toddler (happily asleep for the first 5 courses) and baby.

We drove a long way, but it was worth it. From the minute we arrived the reception was welcoming and the bedroom excellent - but then, the highlight was dinner. We were welcomed by Chef jean Paul and his team and service was like a well oiled machine with everyone motivated and eager to please to make it a vivit... More

Return visitor to this place, always impressed by their professionalism, courtesy and quality. Of course, you have to pay for these things and, for a special occasion, we will do it again. Arbois is a lovely town that has several good wine producers that offer tastings and a superb chocolate maker

I have eaten in that restaurant three times. Once in family and twice with friend. Simply one of the best restaurant I have ever been. Every single dish offers is of the finest quality. Service is perfect. Jean-Paul Jeunet is concerned about the quality of the food. Once one of my friend didn't finish his foie gras as he was... More
