Very nice Tuscan food at fair prices. Fresh pasta. Delicious chicken cooked with Brunello and herbs. Good wines. Modest Brunello by the glass. Nice atmosphere. We ate here twice.

We went there even if we were told to check the bill before paying! And imagine what? They charged us for food we didn't eat. Of course, this can happen, but I find very strange that this happen after they warned me. This is unfair. Food was ok, but less good than in other restaurant (e.g. al Falcone in Pienza).

Went here for dinner - thought it was okay but not great. Cozy atmosphere, pretty average food. For our other night in town we went to La Bottega di Ciacco and thought it was much better.

Al Vecchio Forno is owned by the excellent hotel Palazzo del Capitano but is in a separate building a short walk away. Because of this there are usually a lot of tourists eating there who are staying at the hotel and reservations are needed for dinner even out of season. While visiting San Quirico, a charming Tuscan town, we had a late lunch at this restaurant. It was a nice day so we opted to eat in the outside garden which was lovely and shaded from the sun. We ate here for both nights while staying at our hotel. The restaurant is decorated with unique, creative ideas. Love the walls of bottle corks. Food and service was superb. Enjoyed the outdoor terrace because of the atmosphere. Wine list is a little overwhelming unless you have some experience with italian wines. But overall, a wonderful experience
