Good food, home cooking, spotlessly clean, friendly, not cheap, varied menu, child friendly, cakes to take away.
We stopped here for coffee and cake on the way back from visiting Cragside. My wife had decaf and I had regular coffee which was of a decent quality. The decaf was instant. We tried their fake cake and a piece of lemon cake. Both were home-made and of nice quality though the pieces were a little small but they... More
We stopped here on a cold and windy day and the warm and friendly welcome made us feel much better straight away. Lovely food quickly served. They sell pots of jam and chutney here too. Highly recommended.
Called into Rothbury on business and decided to have a coffee & sandwich. Hardly got through the door and was greeted with a smile so felt at home straight away. There was no rush to serve us and were asked to order at the till. I had Tuna sandwiches ans my partner had Mackeral Pate. Both very fresh, tasty and... More
Stopped in for a quick cup of tea and a cake after our walk before getting on the road. Staff were friendly, tea was good, the selection of cakes was wide and varied and the caramel shortcake was delicious - the flapjack wasn't as good. Prices were also quite reasonable which made a nice treat.
Rothbury is a good place for a pit stop on our drive up from Newcastle, we choose Elm tree coffee shop as it has no steps as you enter and go to toilet as one of our party would find this difficult. We have been 5 times now and have found the staff welcoming and friendly, we have a good... More
It's like walking into someone's house when you go in. Very helpful staff and fair prices. The cakes are homemade so vary day by day. They also do light lunches but we had already eaten so couldn't review them but they did look nice!
Tucked away in the main street in Rothbury, this is a pleasant little cafe/tea room where one can relax for a few minutes over a nice hot drink and enjoy a bun, a snack or something a little more substantial. I wouldn't say it's a cheap option - but it is nice!
Called in to this pleasant cafe on a Sunday afternoon. Had cups of very good tea and coffee and delicious, moist and generous slices of Coffee and walnut cake and coconut cake. Friendly helpful staff and good service
