Food was very nice along with very capable service. The weather was nice and so we enjoyed a beautiful dinner outside along the "Water's Edge."
This restaurant has the benefit of being on the waters edge (go figure....I wonder where they got the name) with a great patio overlooking the approach to the Trent system lock. I have eaten there many times before as it has a dock and boat access from the cottage. Previous reviews have sometimes not been kind with comments about service...

View of the water, food was good, service was good, however the menu was limited. Would have liked a sea food selection!
excellent food, atmosphere is great and the owners are very personable, we had ordered a birthday cake and the owner Nicolette ended up not charging us for it. that was great. I would strongly recommend
could not have chosen a nicer place for lunch great food, great venue and service they prepared a special deseret plate with Happ Birthday surrounding plate all done in chocolate...
The service is the onlt thing that lets the place down,,,, the food is fantastic ,,try the Lamb Chops,,,, I am from Australia so I do know lamb, well not as well as the Kiwis,, but the food is fantastic all around ,,,, same some room for dessert the Coconut Creme Brulee awesome

My husband & I visited this restaurant Tuesday Aug 7th for dinner,with a reservation for 6:30 pm.We were greeted with a smile & promptly showed to our table,very nice.Yes the chairs are plastic & the napkins are paper,& I agree that should be remedied,but really,the beautiful lakeside ambience & the food more than compensates.Our entire meal was delicious & presentation...

Hello "Fine" Diners. We were looking forward to an enjoyable meal at The Water's Edge but it did not work out on our first visit. It was a hot July Saturday afternoon. We arrived. It said OPEN. The door was open but when we got inside we were advised that the restaurant was closed for a "Private Function". Fair game....
