When I visit Tacloban City, I make sure I drop by Jose Karlos Coffee main branch, the one on Juan Luna St. I love the feel of the place, it is so homey and relaxing, I could just sit there all day, just enjoying their seafood linguine pasta and a cup of cappuccino or french vanilla. The place has strong... More

From the counter, the shop looks ordinary with the usual display of their pastries and the choices of blends from menu board. We were seated at the 2nd floor and the transition of the place from the counter was astonishingly captivating. The place has the perfect ambiance to hang out: chit chat with friends, business meetings and etc. The appealing... More

I ordered coffee Americano. Well blended and strong the way I liked it. My companion ordered iced cappuccino. We were there before the lunch crowd, the place was half empty. Their wifi is strong, you just need to ask the cashier for the password. Great place to hang out before lunch.

If you want to lix with the elite of the town, this is indeed the place to be. However, food is overrated and prices are not consistent to national standards.

A home turned into a most unique coffee shop. I'm a sucker for homey ambiance establishments and this is definitely one of those. A very relaxed place with decently priced coffee and cakes. And if by some reason you're in the mood for some red, they have those too priced decently of course! A must visit if you just want... More

If you want to have coffee (hot or cold) in the afternoon or cool-off from the heat, try this place out. It does have tables outside if you want an alfresco feel.

Jose Karlos is a good hangout place in Tacloban. There were no fancy coffee shops in tha city before so this was an "in" thing to bookworms, youngsters, and the likes of those who are avid coffee shop fans. I have a British friend who, whenever he visits Tacloban, loves to sip evening coffees in Jose Karlos. He loves the... More
