"There was an earlier review from us but somehow it got deleted. Don't know if Tripadvisor got a little paranoid thinking we were fake or something or maybe Zagat got weird ..... muy stupido and silly in our case. In the previous review, we noted we were from San Francisco, California USA and were ...""foodies", ready to test the limits and boundaries of eating at 5 star exclusive restaurants to dives in a sketchy neighborhoods internationally. Anyway, regardless of being previously deleted, we meant to write another review for Bravo Tapas. We had to wait one month per Tripadvisor's policies to do a double review. And here it is:
On our return trip back to Merida from Valladolid and Ek Balam, neither towns to be missed, we went back to Bravo Tapas for paella and Spanish red wines for dinner. "Everyone I know loves this cafe. My wife and I frequently go there for lunch. They have two options- quiche, which varies daily and another entree, lasagne, fish chicken and beef. Usually the style is French or international. The food is always delicious and inexpensive. Entrees are 50 pesos, about ..."$4.00 U.S. the juice is fresh squeezed. Coffee and espresso drinks are wonderful and also reasonably priced (20-30 pesos, under $3.00 USD).
The owners take care of everything and are great people, attentive service. Oh, we also love the desserts.
Highest recommendation. If you want great, inexpensive food off the beaten path, it is well worth the effort to find it.

"I ate twice during my 4 days staying in Merida, once for the diner and once for lunch. The cuisine is typically Yucatan with some surprising dishes. I also tried the Chaya which is the green drink made from herbs. The waiters are very nice and the service is quick and efficient. One can see ladies m..."aking tacos.
Dishes price about 100pesos for a quite big portionso I consider it s a bargain considering it s a tourist restaurant.
