Once, when a wine we were really set on was unavailable we were upgraded to a more expensive bottle for the same price by the landlady who we had gotten chatting to. However the crowning glory is the food - I have now eaten there 6 or 7 times (including for my mother's 70th birthday planned there) and have always enjoyed a highly pleasurable experience.
