"We were taken to Le Jardin for my wife's 50th birthday. It was a rainy evening but the restaurant coped well with the numbers even though they had lost half of their outside tables. Service was smooth and attentive.
We all went for the 35.50 Euro set menu and were not disappointed. The 'pica pica' ..."mixed tapas were both beautifully presented and very tasty. Tomato breads, small shrimps, squid, Iberico jamon, anchovies, gambas and mussels. Two of us followed with the mixed fish which was both generous and well cooked. The pork was well cooked as we're the flambe'd gambas. If you visit this restaurant finish with the Cafe Gourmand. A taster dish of 5 desserts.
Everything washed down with a very nice local white wine (at an amazing 14.5%).
Our hosts are already planning a return visit.

"This tiny and understated restaurant is a giant in food excellence. Whether lunch or dinner your eating experience will be memorable. Don't consider the rest, go to the best ... L'Ambroisie!"
"I dithered as to whether to give this restaurant a 'Very Good' or 'Average' overall score and decided 'average' would be a little harsh. It is a great location by the clock tower and sheltered from the wind. The service was a little confused but this (as explained to us) was due to them having prep..."ared the inside rooms for a wet evening which turned out rather sunny - so everyone wanted to be outside. Our first waitress looked a little harassed but overall the service was well timed, friendly and reasonably efficient. We went for the set menus and started with a combination of the small tapas, Iberico ham and their Collioure starter which was anchovies and a very good tapenade. The bread was fresh and warm. Mains were duck (very slightly over-cooked), grilled squid (excellent) and the mixed grill (also excellent and rather large). For puds we all had the cafe Gourmand. The coffees were piping hot and the deserts tasty. Not a bad place at all and would go again.
