"We found this on our first trip to Gran Canaria. It was, at the time, recommended as a 'great meal at an affordable price' in a famous French guide and somehow we managed to find our way to Las Colorados. I wish that I could provide a simple way how to get there. All I can say is that you shou..."ld head up through the narrow streets at the very north end of Las Palmas city, go over the top of the rather desolate hills on the La Isleta peninsula and you will find El Padrino on the outskirts of the village of Las Coloradas. "The Irish Cottage is at Amadores beach close to Puerto Rico. The breakfasts are superb and the service is excellent. The view is of the beach and sea. You can tailor you breakfast to whatever you want at very reasonable prices. All the produce is British, sausages, real bacon couldn’t fault it.

"Having just visited the musieo Canario we needed a snack before tackling the cathedral Santa Ana. Finding somewhere that accommodates three generations of one family and meat eaters and vegetarians, we could be classified and 'picky' as a group. We were 'street welcomed' by the waiter from an Italia..."n restaurant Ristorante Pizzeria Le Marie. He was accommodating and the restaurant looked clean and welcoming, so we went in. After A free aperitif our lunch snack expanded somewhat, home made pizzas and home made pasta dishes were excellent. Five of us ate for 50 euros including a 5 euro tip.
Recommended for friendly accommodating staff and good food close to the museums and the cathedral.
