  "I had heard of Bistro 1860 for months, and nothing but good things. My dinner there did not disappoint. The place has a very relaxing feel from the moment you enter. I think I would feel comfortable there for a casual meal with friends or a business dinner with the boss. You can eat at the bar, ..."or at a table in one of the three rooms downstairs, or outside. We opted for indoors. I love the idea of the place: three levels of plates for most every item, single serving, appetizer size, and full entree size. I like trying different dishes, so the single servings were perfect for me. I started with the lobster hush puppy, which was served with a lemon hollandaise that was light and the perfect accompaniement. And the candied jalepeno pepper that came with it was fantastic, sweet and savory in both extremes at the same time. Don't know how they do that one, but I loved it. I next enjoyed the duck confit.   "Arrived at 10 on a Saturday and had to wait for about 20 mins for a table. It was worth the wait!! The lemon pancakes and my poached eggs with a yummy slightly spicey cilantro sauce were amazing. I was taken aback by the wonderful drink menu .. not your average mimosa here!! My mimosa was a special ..."of the day - peach and ginger!! Portions are big. Our service was outstanding! Typical Louisville .. a lot of "please and thank yous" and that is just how I like it!! I loved this place! A tip ..
