"We were staying at a B&B in town and doing the usual touristy things in Natchitoches. We had never been to Pioneer Pub, only because we didn't know about this place and it is a little hard to see because of the location. It is located at the end of the main street action of all the shops and other r..."estaurants. The owners of the B&B where we were staying are friends with the owners of the Pub and they recommended it. We were not at all disappointed. The food was great...really great! And the prices were very reasonable. The service was good and the atmosphere was just as good. They even have tables outside and in good weather dining outdoors is very pleasant. We have been to Natchitoches enough times now that we have become friends with several of the locals and they all seem to hang out at the Pub at night. "You won't be sorry for stopping but you will be sorry if you can't or don't get meat pies and yam cake! They are the bomb! French Market is one of out first stops when arriving in Natchitoches and our last stop on our way home. They have such an awesome variety of items in the store but the deli is ..."where the real treat is! We have always had good service here, even when we have to wait for a fresh batch of meat pies to be cooked. The wait is never too long and we can find something to look at while waiting. They have great Cajun cookbooks and a huge selection of spices and seasonings. Any cook can find something different there. They also have one of the biggest jugs of Tabasco sauce we have ever seen! As the saying goes, "you can eat and get gas there"!! Awesome place!

"We have only dined at Mariner's this one time. We were there for their Sunday lunch buffet and it was really good. The selection was good, from the meats to desserts and everything between. There was plenty of selection and the salad bar was good as well. The service was OK, not the best, but certai..."nly not the worst we've had. Mariner's also had an extensive menu you could order from. The restaurant overlooks Sibley Lake so the view is really pretty. It's a neat place with really good food!
