"We were tired. We were wet. We were hungry. We had arrived from California on a red-eye flight. It was too early to check into our hotel and we needed some food anyway. This local's greasy spoon hit the spot.
We sat at the breakfast bar when we arrived. There was only one other person in there as ..."the skies opened up. The waitress told us there are a number of regulars but they hadn't shown up, perhaps not wanting to brave the elements.
The owner/chef made up our dishes. The waitress made small talk about where we were from. As I sopped up the last of my runny egg yolk other folks started to arrive. We paid an inexpensive tab for a good greasy spoon breakfast and were on our way.

"We enjoyed a wonderful meal and most certainly will return if ever in area again. It is a small place, has about 7 tables inside and 3 outside. Its a quaint little space, kitchen is visible and makes it a real cafe experience. The staff is very pleasant and service is great. The bread and olive oil dip g..."iven at beginning is very good.We had a dish with the homemade pasta and it was really good. The portions are very generous so you will have leftovers for next night. They don't take reservations but they do take call ahead seating,so if you can, call in advance to help with wait.Make a point to stop here if you can :)

"Been coming to Cafe Assisi for years now and not once have I ever been served a disappointing meal. The food is to die for - chicken, veal, pasta, seafood, whatever the dish this place can transform it into a culinary masterpiece. Listen for the specials because usually those are excellent. The brea..."d is fresh and authentic too. They give you a delicious olive oil dip to dunk it in. Mhhmm so good. Desserts are also good. The one and only downside to Assisi, is that the place is the size of a mousehole. There are literally a handful of tables and I cannot tell you how many times my family and I have waited for a table on a busy Friday night. I have seen customers literally leave because the wait was too long. Its disappointing because Cafe Assisi would do so much more business in a bigger location. I'm not saying close the original, but expand or add an additional location or something. But in terms of food, this place is tops.
