"My husband and I recently enjoyed lunch here. We got there right when it opened, and were quickly seated. The mozzarella in the caprese salad was amazing. So, so good. And a balsamic reduction perfectly complimented it. The tomatoes weren't as ripe as I would have liked, but the other two components..." were so good, I could look past it. Next we had a pasta dish made in a caprese style (again, that cheese was amazing), and a fresh tomato sauce was so fresh and tasty. Mmm, it melted in my mouth. Finally we had the veal parm. The meat was so thin and perfectly prepared. The veggies were garlicky and al dente. A delicious meal. And the waiter was beyond friendly, made suggestions, and didn't hover (and considering it was 11:30 on a Monday morning and we were the only people in there, I consider that a huge plus). Great place in a central location. Would go back.

"We have eaten at Lefteris many times -- lunch, dinner, inside, outside ... always delicious, friendly and efficient service, generous portions, and fairly priced. This old-style Greek gyro-and-eats shop is a Tarrytown landmark. From sandwiches/gyros/souvlakis-on-pita, to entrees (with rice or french..." friends) and from chicken to lamb to pork to delicious fresh fish, everything on the menu is outstanding. All entrees come with a ginormous Greek salad and pita points with homemade tatziki. Greek wines are good and reasonable by the glass or bottle. Entrees are large enough to share, particularly if you share an appetizer or two: the calimari are memorable. The only reason this didn't get a "5" is that you have to deal with competitive parking, and it's kinda small and noisy. However, for a vintage Greek diner, it's one of the best-in-class in the lower Hudson valley.

"I am so glad that I ate here (6/13/13) before reading the reviews (very unlike me). Originally heading to a different restaurant in Tarrytown, we decided to stop at Caravela. The were 13 of us which included 10 adults and three 4 year olds. All of us Portuguese and Brazilian. It was a little before ..."noon so no surprise that no one else was there. The server/manager/ maybe owner was really helpful. The waiter was attentive and on top of things. Now to food. AMAZING. Being Portuguese and having eaten A LOT of Portuguese food, trust me when I say, AMAZING. The bread was warm and the butter smelled fresh and spread right on. The appetizers, a shrimp dish, a chorizo/olive dish and an octopus/chick pea dish was great. We ordered three of each of the three dishes and it fed the entire table. When our meals arrived, we were already satisfied! Did that stop us, no. I ordered the filet of sole stuffed with crab meat and spinach with baby shrimp and red potatoes. Normally I'm a chicken dish girl, ...
