"I had the ribs and bbq special and it was very good. The place is tucked back in the woods on a creek, easy to miss if you don't know it's there. You come in and order at a long bar/counter then you go sit down and they bring your food. This is a typical setup for a authentic BBQ restaurant (beer an..."d wine served). They have a outside porch/patio, very cool, close enough to see and hear the Jonathan Creek. The entire restaurant, from the inside, looks like a nice log cabin, with bluegrass playing in the background. There's even a crafts woman working on her glass sculptures which she sells inside the restaurant. The place feels and looks very clean, their sanitation grade was a perfect 100%. I recently moved to Maggie Valley from Charlotte where I've had many bbg plates and Butts on the Creek is a real authentic southern BBQ JOINT. I've had a burger at Legends Bar in Maggie and it was terrible, I've also had a burger at Country Vittles and it was even worst. I'll try the burger at Butts ...

"When we visited it had to have been bike week or something. There were bikers everywhere. To me that only meant that it must be a good place ams it definitely was. Everyone was very nice and the food portions were so big. I ordered trout and it was both perfectly cooked and seasoned as well as so bi..."g that it barely fit on the plate. Definitely glad my wife and I ate here.

"This is the best restaurant in Maggie Valley. I'm just tellin' ya. Me and my man-friend went to another restaurant and literally decided to get up and leave to go here because the reviews were better... and trust me... the good reviews don't lie.
I wanted beef... so we ordered the prime rib. I l..."iterally could have cut it with a fork. Although the salad and the baked potato were good... nothing to really rave about... I can tell you the location, ambiance and feel of this place was gorgeous for a romantic dinner for two by a loud creek. We went at night... in fact, it was just next door to our hotel (Jonathan's Inn). We walked over for a late dinner... no wait... and were seated outside by the stream. There was low lighting that just added to the romantic feel of the place. Service was very good. I completely recommend this restaurant if you're in Maggie Valley.
