"Our waiter, who is also the co-owner, was very informative about the vineyards they use, the various wines, the individual dishes. He also has a good sense of humor. Our entree's were both delicious, though the scallops were a hair overcooked. We especially enjoyed the asparagus au gratin, and the a..."rugula with thinly sliced green beens in it that surrounded the asparagus au gratin beneath the hallibut cheeks. The strawberry shortcake was fresh out of the oven and still hot. The beignets that came with the coffee caramel creme brûlée were excellent. I am not surprised that one of the merchants at a jewelry store we were in recommended it as one of the best places in town. This restaurant uses local foods to create out of the ordinary dishes. The meal was less expensive than one we had the night before at a highly rated restaurant in a Best Western in town, and it was much superior food.

The restaurant owner makes the cinnamon rolls from scratch, as well as their muffins, pies and cakes!
We had breakfast at Bette's two different times. The most outstanding was the bacon omelet with pepperjack cheese. There had to have been well over a 1/4 pound of bacon in the omelet plus you had your choice between hashbrowns or cubed red potatoes which were fried with what I think was a small amount of onion (very thin), plus you chose between toast, biscuits or two muffins .... hello, the...
