  "The menu at the Nepali Kitchen was rather confusing -- I took that to be a good sign of its authenticity. The service was not like that of a typical American restaurant (we were not offered beverage choices but water came with our meal). However the server/owner (?) quickly ran down the different me..."nu items and explained what they meant - he proved to be very patient and kind. My companions got the Momo (tasty dumplings) and chef's specialities (cabbage, lentils, cauliflower --- each surprisingly delicious). I had the Parantha which resembled a quesadilla with sour cream and (banana pepper-based?) salsa. That dish was our least favorite since it was bland compared to the other selections. For dessert we each had a warm beverage from the coffee bar. My Mexican hot chocolate was especially yummy. We were a bit disappointed we didn't visit the serene covered back patio - it is intimate & cozy. The restaurant interiors were sparse but far from cold and featured Hindu decor. " More >

  "The out-of-date surroundings, reasonable prices, and unassuming waitstaff would easily cause you to pass over this gem. But the superb food and funky decor will leave you wanting more. Try the bacon wrapped prawns or sea scallops. Skip the Caesar salad. Bread and wine were generous. I suppose..." it's a threat for any tourist city but the patrons were not in keeping with the hip atmosphere this place is capable of. We were seated for an early dinner hoping to catch an Oceanside view of the sunset (the best seats are in/near the bar). Our trio were the only diners not requiring walking assistance.   "Staff and host, Steve, were very friendly and professional. Our meals was great and the small plates in the lounge before were yummy. We enjoyed a beautiful Pinot that was recommended by the waiter. "
