"While the buffet offering is a good deal, we went here for dinner one night and were surprised to see a wide variety of offerings.
The mulligatawny soup is a good place to begin. It's flavourful, has a velvety texture, and costs less than $3. It's a good option as you wait for the rest of your meal...".
I went with the tikka masala as an entree...it's typically my standard go-to dish. The sauce was richer than I've tasted elsewhere. I ended up eating the remains with just a spoon!
The portions are very big for the prices you pay. An example of this is that you can get a good-sized order of naan bread for under $2.
Though I look forward to trying the buffet, this place offers a good menu on its own.
It seems like people might opt for take-out, which makes sense given the interior is simply decorated.

"I love this place for its faults and its yummy ice cream. It's one of a kind, unlike the decor which is the most hysterically eclectic I've ever seen. Some day (sooner than later) I'll miss it a lot. Amercana at its best."
"The food was good and there was some variety. The hot food was hot, the cold food was cold and the attendant was constantly stirring and replenishing dishes. She did not bring out large quantities at any one time, but would refill dishes that were getting low. Additionally, if some one drop a nood..."le or a vegetable on the counter surface she was there to wipe it up in seconds. The hot and sour soup was very good. The sushi was limited, but fresh. I would return here again. It was $11.95 for dinner including a pot of tea. Whenever you left the table and returned you dishes had been bussed away from the table.
