"In Kilauea the fish market has Ahi wraps to die for. They are huge and can be shared. They also have fish tacos and everything served here is fresh, fresh, fresh! Don't forget to bring your own wine or beer and if you like some spice they make a great super spicy salsa. "
"We found about this shave ice place from Ricky, one of tour guides when we went tubing. It's located in Kilauea Crossings shopping center next door to the Healthy Hut health food store, right before mile marker 23 and before Kiluaea Lighthouse. The owner is Eitaro from Japan, and he makes his own or..."ganic syrups from local fruits. The shave ice is $5, and he hand shaves the ice. We got there around 3:00 pm, and found out that he had just received a write-up in the local paper, and was almost all sold out! We got the second to last shave ice available and the only organic syrup he had left was coconut, so that’s what we got. The flavor is AMAZING, and he makes it by hand shaving a layer, adding some syrup, fresh coconut and then another layer of ice etc.......The only 100% Organic and Japanese Style Shave Ice on Kauai! the Best Shave Ice on Kauai!

"We stopped here en route back from the Kilauea Lighthouse. It's around the back from some shops. They have an eat-in or take-out menu, as well as poke to go.
This was perfect between lunch and dinner, and we got a pound of their delicious ahi poke, extremely fresh with white and green onions and..." black and white sesame seeds, served with a side of soy sauce with wasabi already in it for dipping. There are several tables out back to eat in, and it is also BYOB. Though we can't speak to the rest of the menu, it was still crowded at 4pm so seemed very popular. Definitely worth at least a stop for the poke.
