"We have visited Koh Samet 5 times and have never found a better place to eat. We now have breakfast lunch and dinner at Funky Monkey and have eaten our way through most of the menu. We've had two birthday parties there organised by the owners which were perfect. The location is great and cocktails t..."o die for. A great place to sit and watch island life go by. Can't wait to go back next year.

"From Wong Deuan beach to the main north beach Hat Sai Kaew, we walked to check all the restaurant possibilities. Besides the Tubtim (one beach south), we enjoyed very much the Samed Villa restaurant - easily found on Google Maps with its Resort.
You can eat on the terrace or on the beach, feet ..."in the sand. You can see and choose your fish, weight your giant shrimp and have them barbecued. This option includes potatoe and corn on the cob + salad bar. Their Thai food is also delicious and service attentive.
The fire show boys come on this beach too to perform a dangerous but beautiful act.
On our beach (Wong Deuan), there were also restaurants showing the fish but they charged the same amount of money for none of the elegance of the Samed Villa.
We also saw that their position was ideal, as a hotel, but unfortunately all booked.
A dinner for two, eating a lot of good dishes, with one glass of wine and one or two beers was about 1,200 bath with tips. Well worth it.

"The map is wrong. To find the restaurant, go on Google Map, look for Samed Villa Resort (mid-island) and the Tubtim is one beach south of it or three beaches north of the Vong Duan beach.
We loved the seafood souffle in banana leaves - really delicious for a starter. Then we had a full fish and m..."ixed vegetables. All was delicious. The atmosphere at night is magical with lanterns on the beach. And then, no need to go as far as the Ploy Talay, the fire show boys come on this beach as well and do their show in front of the Tubtim.
The choice is vast from authentic Thai to Western.
