We chose Seven Stars for a summer girl-trip, after doing a ton of research online to be sure we would be safe as well as pampered. So glad we chose to stay here.
Upon arrival at the resort we were greeted with a delicious rum punch, checkin was effortless and we were given a tour of the grounds on our way to our suite.
We chose a garden view one bedroom, which was just right for us. There were two rooms (bedroom for me and living room with sofa bed for my friend) two full baths and a kitchen stocked with everything we could ever need to cook with, including both a Nespresso machine and a coffee pot, with daily restocked coffee for both. The ocean front rooms on upper floors certainly have breathtaking views and are much larger, but we spent almost all of our time outside on the beach or at the pool, so we appreciated our cool quiet terrace overlooking the immaculate palm trees on the grounds. Twice daily housekeeping and L'Occitane bath products were much appreciated.
The resort is extremely well maintained and the staff was exceptionally friendly and hospitable. Lila, always remembered our names and he appeared the very moment we thought of ordering something from the Deck while sitting beachside. The buffet breakfast had something for everyone and the overall staff at the restaurant, Seven was beyond professional both for dinner and breakfast, especially...We chose Seven Stars for a summer girl-trip, after doing a ton of research online to be sure we would be safe as well as pampered. Lila, always remembered our names and he appeared the very moment we thought of ordering something from the Deck while sitting beachside. (My review of dinner at Seven is posted on TripAdvisor under the restaurant section, all high praise!)
The beach front and pool were well furnished, with comfy lounges, cool shade and an endless supply of fresh towels. The occasional treat of a complimentary fresh fruit smoothie or sunglasses cleaning (really!) made us feel extra special. The other Seven Stars guests seemed to be couples or families, all of whom were respectful neighbors (no loud chatter, drunk behavior, or other annoying activities that we've experienced at other resorts).
We quickly fell into a routine of hitting the beach right after breakfast, sometimes following the complimentary yoga class on the west deck at the beach. The ocean water is unbelievably blue and clear, the sand is like talcum powder, the waves always gentle. The complimentary paddle boards and kayaks were a lot of fun. Every evening after dinner we refreshed ourselves with a swim in the heated salt water pool, followed by a nightcap by the fire pit at the Deck - heaven!
The resort is conveniently located. The IGA grocery store is almost directly across the street and had everything we needed in terms of snacks, drinks and more sunscreen. The prices are high, but we had been warned, so weren't shocked. Cabs are always at the ready at the resort, but we liked the idea of not venturing any further than our feet (or complimentary bicycles) could carry us. Everyone we met along the way was gracious, friendly and welcoming. We even met a few of the "wild" Potcake dogs - too adorable to really call wild, but they are strays and great efforts are being made to rescue them and find adoptive homes. If I didn't already have two dogs, I would have adopted one!
Travel Tip: The airport is tiny and is currently under construction. It is NOT good for disabled passengers. Deplaning and boarding is via stairs on the tarmac. We watched a father hoist and carry his disabled teenage daughter down the stairs, with great difficulty. Arrival was chaotic, the line to get through passport control and customs took more than an hour more in a very hot area. Be advised, there is no "desk" where a Seven Stars rep is waiting for arrivals at the airport, just a nook outside the airport where all hotel reps are stationed in folding chairs with clipboards, next to coolers of bottled water. For departure, we were told to be at the airport three hours ahead of our flight - but we could see no reason for this. The security line moved exceptionally fast, we were inside the secure area within 10 minutes. The waiting area inside is overwhelmingly hot, not enough seating, and there is NO food, only duty free jewelry and trinkets. There is an upper deck that's outside, also very hot, with limited seating, overlooking the tiny tarmac, but features a bar. With three hours to suffer in the crowded heat, everyone was enjoying cocktails.
Sorry this was so long, just so many good things to share (other than the airport). We give Seven Stars a rating of 7-stars! We plan to return next summer - can't wait.More
