This is quite a large hotel, with 154 rooms. It is not quaint or charming by any means. But the rooms are large, the shower is excellent with lots of hot water, and the buffet breakfast is very good. We spent 4 nights here and enjoyed it. It is close to Alameda Park. It is convenient for visiting the excellent Ciudadela Craft Market on Balderas and only a block from the Museo de Arte Popular on Revillagigedo. There is a 7/11 nearby if you need to buy coffee, snacks or water. We will definitely stay here again.

With a excellent location close to the Historic Center and the Alameda, great attention from the personal, nice rooms and delicious food to provide, this is one of the better option to choose in Mexico City~

Very good hotel, well located in the historic area of Mexico City. At a walking distance from the Alameda and the Zocalo it is really a good choice ! The rooms are comfortable but a little bit old. The food is delicious,We had 4 dinners there as we stayed twice during our trip to Mexico in this hotel. Always fresh food but service can be slow. Breakfast was good and presented a good variety of mexican and international food.

Room tip: Select a room not facing the front street, friends have said it can be noisy.

Our stay in this hotel was pleasant overall. The rooms were spacious and clean and the staff was professional and polite. It did, however, feel like a business hotel. The location was convenient and we walked to many of the downtown sights. I would have enjoyed the hotel more if the rooms had air conditioning and the staff were a little more welcoming. Without AC, we had to open the windows and it was noisy but it wasn't too much to handle. We found this to be a good hotel for overall value.

If you do choose this hotel, DO NOT overload the elevator. Like fools, we did and we were stuck for about an hour in the small, cramped space with what felt like a limited air supply. Without the luxury of a button to push to call 911 like in the states - we had to yell for help until someone heard us. When they did come to assist, it was a guy or two with what sounded like a wire hanger and a screwdriver trying to pry the doors open. Once they did, we found we were between two floors and had to jump through a small space to safety. Very scary stuff but we only had ourselves to blame.

Plaza Garibadi was a short cab ride and highly recommended for those interested in Mariachi music. Not a great selection of places to eat or drink in the immediate area but available within walking distance. There was also a small convenience store nearby and that was very convenient. We would return to this hotel.

Room tip: No AC, so make sure your room has a free standing fan. Also, without AC, you'll want to open your window so make sure you aren't on the first floor for safety.

Our travel agent arranged this hotel for us, so I have no idea about the price for a night. Personally, I would not have booked this hotel because it is too 'businessy' and basic for my liking.

Yes, it is close to the zocalo and the main shopping street. But it is hard finding a decent bar in the immediate surroundings (the hotel bar was pretty dead when we were there). In hindsight, I would have chosen accommodation in the Condesa-area.

Nevertheless, we had a nice room. The first room we were shown was not ready, so we got another one. It had a jacuzzi! Unlike many other places we stayed in Mexico, it had a nice shower. Breakfast-buffet was good.
