Rarely does a vacation destination live up to its advertised pictures. This amazing B&B SURPASSED them. Walking into the large suite off the dining room took my breath away. Way over the top elegant, tasteful - right out of House Beautiful. Every time I needed something, there it was. They have thought of everything. The jetted tub was the longest bathtub I have ever seen. If you can take your eyes away from the beauty INSIDE, just look out your windows and you see nature's beauty. The setting is truly magical. But even better than all of that were the most gracious hosts. You just knew they loved what they did. They would join us when they served magnificent breakfasts every morning, chatting, sharing a wealth of useful information, making every guest feel so welcome. These are perfect hosts in a perfect setting with an absolutely perfect, warm, friendly, gorgeous home.

Room tip: The large suite off the dining/common area is spectacular!

Upon our arrival, we were greeted by our friendly host Gordie, who led us to our room throiugh the "Grotto", a lovely lit walled rock garden.

We had the pleasure of staying 2 nights in the Arbutus Suite at this beautiful B&B overlooking Long Lake. Our room was very spacious, clean and cosy and had a separate area with a sink, dishes and a fridge containing complimentary Nanaimo Bars.

There were lots of tourist brochures, books and maps available in the guest lounge, but they were not comparable to the wealth of information Gordie and his wife Janice shared with us. They were extremely friendly, warm and very proud of their lovely home. They are very knowledgeable about the area and mapped out different highlights in and around Nanaimo for us to visit. Gordie's breakfasts were fresh, creative and delicious.

It was unfortunate that the weather was inclement as we would have loved to take advantage of all the complimentary outdoor amenities the B&B had to offer, including canoes, kayaks, hot tub...

We will definitely be back to stay at this inviting B&B.

We spent our second Labour Day long weekend at this location and are already looking forward to our next visit. We were again amazed at the beauty of the place and the excellence of the accommodations and meals served. The lake was still at a very pleasant temperature for swimming. Janice and Gordie are outstanding hosts and great storytellers. Make sure to ask Gordie to tell you about his volunteering in Marine Search and Rescue.

Room tip: All rooms have beautiful lake views.

I stayed for just 2 days but by the time it came to leave, I wanted to stay the whole week. The rooms were wonderful, large and spacious. The rooms are full of light with a beautiful view of the lake. Gordie was very helpful providing information on activities and sightseeing. There's a lot to do around Nanaimo, but one can spend an entire day (or two) relaxing in the B&B, just sitting by the lake on the deck chairs and never stepping out. There's paddle boats, canoes, a hot tub, tables by the water, and a beautiful sun set to keep one occupied if required.

The breakfast cooked up by Janice and Gordie was excellent. Each day brought a new and healthy menu. Oatmeal, french toast, fruit, and plenty of natural maple syrup.

Highly recommended in Nanaimo.

Long Lake Bed & Breakfast is above and beyond!!

All you want to do is say WOW again and again. It has the whole package! The wonderful hosts, Gordie and Janice, are there to welcome you upon arrival, make 5* breakfasts with good conversation and helpful advise on local restaurants and wealth of information on the whole island. Then the property itself! You exit your vehicle and walk through the grotto and there it is the "view" of the lake and the beauty of the different levels as you descend to your suite. The suite, which was the Lake Side Suite is fantastic with the most comfortable bed ever and views from the bed that make getting up very difficult. The bottom level has the pier as well a plenty of seating, a hammock, a swing and the hot tub for wonderful star light nights! It is all so beautiful I wish I was there right now!! I really do!

Don't miss this whole package - COME SEE FOR YOURSELF!!!!!!
