I know you usually hear location as the best quality, and, it did have that, but the staff made the hotel. From the moment we arrived, early from an overseas flight, we were delighted to find we could check in early. The front desk staff, always greeted us with a smile and a friendly hello, bonjour, bonsoir, or how was your day? By the end of our week stay, they knew our room number, and I was handled my key upon approaching the desk. A special note must be made to "Praxede" on the front desk. Praxede had over heard that we were celebrating a birthday, and when I asked for restaurant suggestions, she made a reservation and let the restaurant know that we were celebrating, and it made for a much more celebratory occasion. She went that one step extra. Praxede suggested a few places to eat, some close and one, a cab ride away, but we would never have tried it without her suggestion - which was a good thing. The room was spacious and bright, being on the corner, as we had four large windows, with black out blinds if needed. The breakfast room was beside the lobby. It was comfortable and well stocked with all you could want in an extended continental breakfast. Our server always made sure we had our hot coffee or tea. A lovely fresh flower bouquet was in the lobby. I noticed...I know you usually hear location as the best quality, and, it did have that, but the staff made the hotel. A lovely fresh flower bouquet was in the lobby. I noticed three different ones over the course of the week. There were places to sit in the lobby if you wanted to read the paper. I would highly recommend this hotel. It was walking distance to many sights and shopping, as well as had many restaurant options within easy walking distance too. The decor was elegant and contemporary — not that hotel look that is so big in chain hotels.More
