Our room was on the 2nd floor...the elevator stops at 1/2 and 2/3 so you have to walk up or down to get to the room which isn't a problem unless you have heavy luggage. Our room had 2 twin beds, windows opened into a courtyard and was very clean. Upon arrival, we were greeted with a little chocolate bar on our pillows which was unexpected and a real treat at the end of a long day. The bathroom had enough soap/shampoo for 2 people (unlike another hotel we experienced) which was welcomed. The first night in the hotel was a little noisy (not sure who was having the party) but I travel with my 'hotel rescue' pack which includes earplugs and a sleep mask so I slept well. The second night was much quieter. As in lots of French hotels, wi-fi was very slow. The air conditioning might have been turned off already (we were there mid-Sept) as it didn't seem to work...this wasn't a problem because the days were not hot. The hotel was close to the Les Gobelins metro stop which made walking home from a night tour of Paris very comfortable. The location is great for the metro and the bus. Although the gentleman at the front desk seemed a little surly (maybe because I tried only a little to speak French?), he was very helpful and considerate when I was in a panic about early...More
