Travelled to Paris for sightseeing (Nov 2012) and spent 3 nights at this hotel, the location is very convenient as is just around the corner of the metro station. The staff was very friendly and helpful (and I do not speak French at all), Eric at the hotel was extremely resourceful and helpful. Breakfast was included with good selection at the hotel which always a good thing before a full day of sightseeing.
Our room was small but that’s a given at Paris, had no problem with cleanliness and noise at all. Elevator was very small as it just fit 2 person and our luggage, the room I stayed was on the first floor so we just use the stairs. If you enjoy walking (how can you not enjoy walking in Paris), walking to the Luxemburg park is around 10 min from this hotel and I walked to the Banks of Seine one evening and took around 30 min from the hotel.

I felt a little claustrophobic with the long narrow corridor, and dark and small room. The location was good and we were able to get to the places we needed to without any trouble. I wouldn’t stay at Hotel Le Royal on my next visit to Paris.

FOund this hotel to be quite good. I asked for a handicapped room and the room was spacious and very well equipped. Very friendly and helpful staff and a very pleasant atmosphere. Breakfast room was convenient and the breakfast good and ample. TV and WiFi were fine. Very close to Luxembourg Garden and Montparnasse. Construction next to hotel made loading and unloading a bit cumbersome.

I spent one night at Hotel Le Royal and I must say it was very enjoyable. The room was very small but cosy and stylish. It is in a lovely area and if you enjoy walking you will make it to Saint Germain in no time. Staff were nice and helpful and it was just what I needed for my short stay.

Room tip: I stayed in a standard room which was small but perfect for one person. It may be tight for a couple.

We stayed here for 2 nights and very much enjoyed our stay.
Although the location is not 'central' it is a 1 minute walk to the metro and so Notre Dame and other sights are reachable in 10 minutes.
Our room was apparently an 'upgrade'. Despite this there is no doubt that it was very small - you could just about get around the bed. The bed, however, was comfortable, the location seemed quite peaceful and, contrary to some reports, I found the free wifi signal very strong.
What probably made this a decent stay as opposed to an average one was the service. In particular, the chap on the front desk (who seemed to be always there) was very helpful and friendly. He made us feel welcome and that he wanted us to enjoy our stay.
Breakfasts were fine too - buffet style with croissants, pain au chocolats, salamis, fruit salad etc.
Recommended.
