We spent one night in the Malaga Palacio in October, our only regret is that it wasn't longer, an excellent hotel, slap bang in the middle of the city. Easy to get to, we were greeted by a friendly valet, who parked our car for us and dropped it back off at the door just when we needed it. An extra charge, but well worth it, saving us the hassle of trying to find parking in an impossibe city to find any!
We had booked a standard room, but were very lucky, as we were upgraded to a seafront facing room, which was spotlessly clean, airconditioned, fluffy towels, lots of toiletries and a massive comfy bed.
The star attraction at the hotel is the rooftop bar and swimming pool terrace. Although the pool and sunbathing area are small, it does the job, but it's the views that are spectacular up here. Even if you are not staying at the hotel you'd be able to enjoy a cocktail or two up here, with fantastic views of the port, the city and the mountains. There is a restaurant here too, with tables outside, although they hold a lot of private functions at the weekend, as was the case during our stay, so we did not get chance to try it.
All in all, a wonderful hotel and we would definitely recommend and stay here again!

For a hotel located right where you want to be to see the sites of Malaga, you can't beat this location. It overlooks the cruise terminal and port, is right next to the cathedral and a short walk to the Alcazaba.

However, the rooms are average and, frankly, it is clear that the hotel does not need to really service its customers to stay in business. The location clearly attracts people. For a hotel of this stature, the in-room coffee and tea service should be included, as it is in most good European hotels. When we asked for an extra bath towel, I was questioned as to why I needed an extra.

You cannot beat the location of this hotel. It is in between the cathedral and the Mediterranean Sea! I stayed here twice in the space of two weeks and both visits I had extraordinary views and I was on both sides of the hotel! You can walk to the beach, the cathedral, shopping areas, and if you are ambitious to the Picasso Museum! I'm a little too old to hoof it from the train station! The Hop-on Hop-off bus stops right in front of the hotel, and there is easy access to taxis and the bus lines. Great restaurants all over within two minutes of the front door. The staff is great - they always have a doorman and are quick to meet your needs. I ate breakfast in the morning in the restaurant and they have a terrific selection of foods. LOVED this property! Oh - and the rooms are larger than your normal European hotel room. I didn't get the least bit claustrophobic! Very spacious bathroom with tub and shower.

Room tip: If you select a room facing the Mediterranean Sea, you get direct sun in the morning that heats up the room.

If you have finished your vacation and want to stay somewhere comfortable, quite and has top notch customer service, stay here. Spend the extra Euros and stay on an upper floor with views of the cathedral. We stayed on the 14th floor and looked out upon the most beautiful view of the city. One floor up was an incredible restaurant, pool and bar. Treat yourself. Our room included robes and towels for the pool. The Wi-Fi was extra if you aren't a Marriot super duper guy or whatever they have.
