We stayed at the Epchris Guest House in April 2014 for a friends wedding in Ilfracombe. There were 4 in our party and we booked a double and superior room for two nights.
From booking through to check-out, Nicky and her family couldn't have been more helpful.
The guest house is a short walk from the main stretch of bars, restaurants and things of interest, so was perfect for our two night stay.
Our room, the superior, was massive. With a double bed, bedside tables, sofa, chest of drawers, en suite and mini fridge. There was also a single adjoining room with desk and wardrobe.
The breakfast was excellent. Plenty to choose from and no dietary requirement too much touble. Nicky told us that all food is sourced locally from butchers and farm shops, and you could really tell the quality. They even provided some Gluten free bread with no issues.
They have some lovely gardens on a steep slope which features an outside heated pool and some pygmy goats! Nicky let us go down and help feed them one morning after breakfast.
There were some lovely touches at the guest house, including nice toiletries, an honesty bar (which you write down what you have and pay at the end), and plenty of in-room facilities like kettle, crockery, glasses etc.
We would definitely stay again at the Epchris if we visited Ilfracombe again, and would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone.
