we, unfortunately, spent only 2 nights here. From the moment we walked in to the moment we left, we were treated like royalty & thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
The grounds are immaculate, the staff are the friendliest, most accommodating I have ever met, the rooms are more than comfortable & the snorkeling/diving is amazing.
We were given an upgrade as soon as the staff found out it was for my birthday & they quickly decorated the villa for us. It was beautiful. We especially loved the manager - Mr. Baan. He was so lovely & always greeted & talked to us when we walked past. We also noted he was always busy helping staff keep the grounds immaculate, what a down to earth manager!
The spa was relaxing & worth every cent I spent. The diving, according to hubby, was amazing - he swam with 6 sharks & it was the best part of his holiday.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here & wished we had booked a longer stay here. Though the hotel is isolated, it is well worth it. From the moment we got off the boat, we were greeted with very smiling bellboys & I have to admit, we had the best hotel bus ride from the pier to the hotel. We had a air conditioned mini bus with welcome drinks. Other resorts had a pick up truck with the tourists piled into the back tray with...we, unfortunately, spent only 2 nights here. I really felt bad for the bell boys, as they carried our luggage up/down the 100 or so stairs to our room. Our room was right at the bottom of the cliff, just before the water so seeing them carry our heavy luggage back up upon check out I felt really bad for them. Hubby kindly gave them some extra cash for all their efforts & they were very delighted.
There are a lot of stairs to climb, a LOT. So if you are not fit, or have bad knees, avoid having a villa & one that is lower near the water. Choose maybe the hotel room. By the end of our stay, we didn't struggle up the stairs, we had gotten fitter, but the first few times were a struggle! lol
Another downside is the buffet breakfast, I was a little disappointed. For the amount we had paid, I really was expecting a bigger spread.
I would love to return to this resort, and can't wait to do so as soon as we save enough!More
