There are both pro's and con's to staying in this hotel. I will start with the good.
The staff is very friendly. Upon Check-In we were greeted with a smile, glasses of complimentary champagne, and easy to follow directions and explanation of how to use the room keys and the temporary charge for incidentals. The next morning breakfast buffet was out of milk and coffee, so I told the front desk clerk, and she sent someone to take care of it right away.
The decor is very nice. It looks like everything comes from Ikea, and the Spanish abstract artwork is very beautiful and visually stimulating. Everything is modern, clean, and comfortable.
Breakfast is excellent. There were bacon, eggs,a delicious mix of purple, golden, red, and sweet potatoes, pastries, cereal, fruit, decent coffee, yogurt, and what tasted like fresh orange juice. Since I have celiac disease, I usually have trouble finding a hotel with more than 1 or 2 gluten free choices. Here I had several and ate until I was full.
The hotel felt safe with the gated parking, security cameras, and electronic key entry. This was good, because it is located in a rougher neighborhood. This brings me to my first con.
Presumably because the rooms are so cheap, some guests seemed to be having a party above us. Another issue is that the walls and floors seem very thin. We could hear people showering, talking, knocking on the door to the room above us, walking, and more. They should invest in some sound proofing.
The double rooms have only double beds, not queens. The rooms are big enough to fit two queen sized beds, so why cut corners here?
There seems to be a lot missing from the rooms. We travel pretty often, and things like mini fridges, coffee makers, microwaves, and irons are all standard now. The rooms have nice furniture and artwork, why skip these necessities?
Another big thing that's missing from the hotel is a guest laundry. If you go to the beach, your clothes will get dirty and wet. Because of the humidity, our clothes didn't dry. The front desk clerk recommended the laundry mat nearby, but it is a rough neighborhood, and I certainly didn't feel comfortable doing that.
Overall, I wouldn't mind staying here again, but I would look for a facility that has at least a mini fridge and a guest laundry, first. I recommend bringing a white noise machine or downloading a white noise app to aid in drowning out the surrounding noise.
