My stay at the Lowes Coronado Bay Resort was the result of attending a business meeting there.
"Resort" means that it has everything necessary for your stay...either because it is too far from or too inconvenient to other things. The property was on an island between Coronado proper and Imperial Beach. While I had rented a car in order to get about, we found that the San Diego bus system was very convenient for transportation from the Resort to Coronado, to San Diego, etc. This, and the hotel shuttle meant that I could have done without a car.
The facility is very nice. Most of the rooms--very spacious--have balconys with at least some view of the Bay and the green spaces between. The hotel is convenient to beaches on both the Bay and the Pacific ocean--really, less than a 2-block walk. The rooms only had a "beverage cooler", which meant that keeping supplies for breakfast (as I prefer to have my coffee and bagel in my pajamas--on the balcony, in this case) was a challenge. There were several bungalow units, which were RIGHT on the water and looked really cool.
The staff was very helpful--what to do, how to get around, etc.
As I was 95% involved in business, I did not use the pools or the available boats or other such things, so can't rate them.
Food was as expensive, or not, as you might expect at a resort....My stay at the Lowes Coronado Bay Resort was the result of attending a business meeting there.

Food was as expensive, or not, as you might expect at a resort. But, the bus ran into Coronado for a host of other restaurants (hey! they were expensive, as well) and right by the Von's supermarket. My favorite meal was at the Burger Lounge!
I find it difficult to assess the cost of the resort: The meeting rate plus "resort fee" plus parking put it over $250 per night. Maybe other deals could be found. But, you get what you pay for.
Bottom line: Very nice location for a vacation. Very expensive for a business meeting. Had I taken more time to research, I'll bet that I could have found a deal in the condo village just a half-block away!More
