Great choice, that's what I thought after the check out.
In fact the Authors is a guesthouse located in the Old part of Key West, a nice 15 minutes walk (try to walk and forget about the parkings) from Duval Street.
Key West in late december was crowded and lovely, in any aspect of the typical local short stay: beach, shopping, sunset, dining out, everything is a must see and the Authors owner (or owners?) gave us the right tip about everything.
A must see, as I wrote, is the sunset, which occurs at 5.30 pm in the period we stayed.
About the hotel, in summary:
1 - we had the Library, which is on the main road and was not noisy at all. If you need a big kitchen because you want to stay for long, or because of whatsoever try another room, otherwise this one was just perfect, nicely decorated and quiet
2 - There is a jacuzzi, enjoy it: the towels for you are next to it, and it's actually relaxing as it's supposed to be.
3 - If you drove here, leave the car in the alley, that is what suggested to the guests: free, safe parking, I loved it.
4 - Don't be afraid to ask, the ladies running Authors are not afraid to give the right tips.
5 - Try the breakfast, which should be included anyway: it's a funky, retrò experience in the rear garden.
Hope the hints can help, I would be back here for sure.
