This is an older Hampton Inn, well maintained and clean. The hotel sits back from the main Route 19 so there is no road noise from this very busy highway. Pleasant staff, very helpful on checkin to provide a room away from elevators and stairways. Vending and ice machines are down a corridor so there is no noise from them and their use.
The room we had was large and very clean. I found the mattress to be a bit too firm for my liking but that is a personal choice. All in all this is a good hotel.

Room tip: Does not seem to be any bad choices here. As always, avoid being next to elevators and stairways.

Stayed at this hotel during a quick weekend getaway with my son before Christmas 2014. I am a long standing HHonors member and have stayed at Hilton properties all over the US and other places in the world. So please understand that my rating of this hotel is based on many years of travel and many nights in hotels, including hotels in the Hampton Inn level of quality and service.

Ignore the older reviews here. This is a great Hampton Inn, with a great staff, comfortable & clean rooms, and overall well maintained and operated. The older reviews depicted this hotel as a "dive". It is not! Yes it is an older Hampton Inn and and it is in a commercial area North of Tampa, but the hotel is a great base camp if you are visiting local attractions. Plenty of restaurants and shopping very close, even walking distance.

Room: I rented a double queen/full size room. Carpeting was relatively new and very clean. Bed and linens were clean and beds were very comfortable. The furniture in the room was a bit dated, but who really cares unless you are room snob! Bathroom was very clean and supplied toiletries are everything you need! Room was a 4 or 5!

Breakfast: Typical Hampton Inn breakfast. Nothing special, but the attendant was friendly and charming and worked hard to keep everything moving, keeping the food fresh and plentiful. Typical fare: Scrambled and hard boiled eggs, Waffles, baked goods (toast, bagels, muffins), cereal, Oatmeal, mixed fruit and juice. Breakfast was a 5 or 5 for typical Hampton Inn type properties.

Lobby: Seems to have been recently updated to newer Hilton Hampton Inn standards. Clean and well maintained. Check-in was great. Greeted warmly and was provided with prompt and efficient service. Lobby / Check-in 5 of 5!

General Property: A few areas where the property might need a bit sprucing but overall in very good shape. Did not use the pool as it was chilly out, but my room looked over the pool and everything was clean and tidy. General property 4 of 5.

Overall this property is a fine example of Hilton quality and I would stay here again no problem. And the rates, both in $$ or HHonors points is a bargain!!!!

Everything with the hotel itself was great - pillows and bed, super comfy, nice and helpful staff, convenient location near restaurants and a 30second drive to a Publix. But that breakfast was really hit or miss - my first two days, it was great, delicious sausage and these awesome cheese/ham/egg bagel toppers, delicious seasoned potatoes. So good. The next 3 days however it was kida bland, with maybe 1 good item there. To their credit, they always had muffins, bland cereal, yogurt, fruit, and orange juice.

We arrived and had no problems checking in. However, we got to our room and couldn't open the door. My daughter figured out that the secret was to pull back on the door, then use the key while applying some force. This worked most of the time, was very frustrating to deal with during our stay. My son wanted to use the pool - first day, there was all kinds of debris in it, so he did not swim. Second day, we looked in and there were large chunks of a white substance - pool chemicals? we stayed away. Otherwise, our stay was enjoyable and uneventful.

Ultimately, the hotel is standard Hampton Inn. We experienced no issues on first night. However second night was extremely "loud" with 2-3 hour of door slamming that seemed too loud to be normal? Staff helpful, friendly, and acommodating. Overall can't beat the 10K per night deal if you can get it, just bring some ear plugs.
