The Red Lion is a nice hotel in a good location. The staff was really up to snuff when I checked in. I was super fast, especially considering I didn't have a reservation. The young lady was pleasant and knowledgeable. My bed was fine, the only problem I had was my room was a bit smokey. I believe the hotel is non smoking, but someone smoked in my room. I was extremely tired and didn't ask to change rooms.

The rooms are good sized.........

(Small Rant -has nothing to do with this hotel) But it seems the newer the hotel, the smaller the room.

There was enough room at this hotel between the furnishing and the bed to get in a few good stretches. Thank you.

Some of the furnishings are a bit dated. But I liked the location and the the parking was free. I didn't use any of the facilities but someone raved about the food in the elevator.

I wish I could give the hotel three an half stars.... I may be back this spring....

BTW: Boise has a very nice downtown. It was wet and cold this visit, but I was very impressed.

This hotel was a surprising great find. Nice location, free shuttle to nearby restaurants, airport shuttle, free parking, a very dog friendly hotel. Good breakfast with buffet or order off menu, both were good with a very nice server and coffee. A convenient bar and restaurant with nice TV's. The staff were all very nice. Nice and clean rooms with plenty of pillows. Every one friendly to my son's dog. Would recommend it and would stay there again.

Room tip: three floors with elevator and easy access to stairs.

This hotel isn't the best but it is super quiet. The breakfast in the morning is plentiful and very filling and the hot tub is out of this world! If your looking for cheap but not paper thin walls cheap. This hotel will definitely fit. They have never been anything but nice to me and their bar has always got good brew.

I needed a room close to medical appointments made for the following day. Some reviews said "dated" but I found the hotel to be quite nice. The staff were very helpful and accommodating. The room seemed clean when I entered and very tidy, until my hand stuck to the night stand, there were white stains in the dark brown bed "wrap" and there was no mattress cover. I cleaned the night stand, ignored the blanket and didn't notice the "other" until morning. Creepy. However, I still would try this hotel again. Maybe the maid was having a bad day as the overall look of the room, the bathroom and floor were all clean. The pillow did smell like dirty hair but there were plenty to choose from so......anyway, I will still go back at least one more time.

The hotel location is right outside of downtown. A little sketchy neighborhood. We checked in when it was dark made me a little nervous. Check in was easy fast our room was very clean and surprisingly newly renovated. You wouldn't expect it from the outside. it was nice for a one night stay.
