This was our first experience at a B&B. Baptism River Inn has set the bar very high for our next experiences. The decor was excellent! Location on the North Shore puts it in a great startegic place that many sight seeing areas are within easy reach. Breakfast dishes were very tasty and delightful. It was the trip of a lifetime and Baptism River Inn definitely helped make it!

Wonderful place to stay to celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary! Quiet and peaceful and Lura made us feel right at home. Felt like we had the place to ourselves. We will definately stay here again when visiting the North Shore.

Room tip: All the rooms looked wonderful. All except one have a private balcony.

We stayed in the spacious Evergreen Suite in early September for a couple of nights, and loved the room. It's very nicely decorated and just makes you enjoy spending time there. The bathroom was enormous; there was plenty of closet/shelf space for us to spread out and get comfortable. We took advantage of the free wifi, which worked great for us. Breakfasts were yummy, and delivered straight to the dining area in our room. There were chocolate chip cookies every afternoon and our room was well-stocked with a coffee machine and tea.

Lura was very helpful beyond our expectations in a couple of ways. I arrived with an injured knee, and she produced a re-freezable ice pack that I used multiple times, since our room had a small fridge with a freezer in it, and she let us borrow a "Gentle Hikes" book that allowed us to find easy or short walks on the North Shore since I was unable to do the more enthusiastic hiking we had originally planned.

The only thing that wasn't quite up to our expectations was that our room wasn't cleaned; we came in after our second day's outing to find the room just as we'd left it. Presumably it was just a mistake, and since we're not the sort of folks who mind using towels more than once, it wasn't a big problem -- just surprising. It's such a great place that wouldn't prevent us from recommending it.

Thanks so much for staying with us and your glowing review. Because we value our guests privacy and focus on conservation here, we don't freshen rooms or towels (unless by request) except for stays of 4 or more days. Sorry for not being clear about this. We hope you'll visit us again sometime.

You can't go wrong with this beautiful place tucked in the trees and next to the rushing Baptism River. We had been here two years ago and HAD to return. Wonderful breakfasts, warm hosts, and close to great restaurants and superb hiking. It's truly a Minnesota gem!

Room tip: If money's no object, go for the suite...it's huge, cozy and comfy. If you want to spend a little less, the Riverside Room is best!
