I have stayed at this property on multiple occasions; however, this was my first stay since they had renovated. Firstly, the rooms are very nice and at a reasonable price. But, unlike previous stays at this hotel, this particular stay was fraught with problems. The first problem occurred before I even checked into the hotel; apparently 1 bedroom suites were oversold. When I finally got to the hotel and checked in, I was chagrined to find that I had NO towels in my room. That is correct, no towels, no faceclothes. I was able to get a couple of towels late that night, but was unable to get faceclothes until mid-afternoon the next day.
I repeatedly queried the "front-desk" staff as to how this could be possible. After all, I have spent HUNDREDS of nights in hotels and never, and I mean NEVER have I ever stayed at a hotel that was unable to give me a facecloth. I feel like the answers I got were unsatisfactory. Basically, the answer I got was the hotel is full. Me "Um, I don't care. I want to take a damn shower."
My previous stays with this hotel were pretty good and I see that other reviewers have also given this hotel some good ratings, but this experience was bad for me on this particular occasion.
I did eventually get towels and faceclothes but I had to be a bit combative with hotel staff. Feeling stressed out after an 11 hour drive and wanting to be able to shower and unable to do so leads me to feel stressed and cranky.
Oh, and the Internet isn't good there. Very very slow.
One other thing that was a bit off-putting, I had to sign a waiver about room damage. Yet, when I checked into my room, it actually had already been damaged by a previous guest (a towel rack was pulled right out of the wall leaving a fairly big hole in the bathroom wall). I suppose the missing towel rack was a moot point on account of me not having towels. But, the very fact I had to sign such a waiver made me wonder what kind of clientele this hotel catered to... apparently the kind of clientele that might go and destroy a room (and also apparently didn't need towels).
I will give this hotel another chance, but I will keeping my fingers crossed that they didn't oversell my room type and that they have sufficient towels for their hotel guests.
