We hadnt booked any accommodation when we drove into Strahan, but instantly my eyes were drawn to Risby Cove. Upon entering the old mill which is now a gallery and reception we were met with the most friendliest woman. We wanted to stay 2 nights, which meant we had to change rooms for the 2nd night - but that was no problem especially since we hadnt booked.
Both our rooms were splendid, lovely comfortable beds. Very clean. Great view out over the harbour. The first night a massive storm came in & although it made for splendid viewing, I was a bit concerned a tree was going to fall us at some stage.
We also dined in the restaurant for the most delicious meal.
We ended up buying a couple of pieces from the gallery to remind us of our special stay here.
My husband was talking to the owner on the day we left, a shame we hadnt done it earlier as they both had been on the same pearling lugger many years before so had lots of tales to tell.
I can highly recommend this place for other travellers, it would have to be the best in this corner of Tassi.
