The location is awesome. The best. Could not get a better spot to be downtown & riverfront & the childrens museum is right next door, like so close you can walk right over in 1 minute! Loved that! The staff were extremely friendly & helpful in every way. Fridge, Keurig & microwave in the room! We had a great view of the Lookouts Stadium. If you stay here you should catch a game. The steps going up to the field are right next to the Hilton Garden Inn Parking.
The rooms were very average. Not what I expected for the price. On the downside, the pillows on the beds were small & sort of awkward, not fluffy like I like.
Our room sort of smelled of mold/musty. Not sure if this was from the air conditioner or or what. We bought some air freshner to mask the issue, as it would've been more of a hassle to change rooms. No hair dryer that I could find. Not much bathroom sink space, but we were in 502 handicap accessible so that is prob why, had never stayed in handicap room before. The shower water pressure was definitely lacking in this room. Girls, shave your legs & wash hair at home, this shower won't suffice.
The beds were extremely uncomfortable/firm IMO, but If you like an extra firm bed...this is your place.
The iron needed to be replaced, which is not a huge issue.
We had booked Courtyard Marriott & cancelled to book here due to positive trip advisor reviews on HGI. Maybe we just came on a busy day & got a room that smelled musty. We still had a great time. Next time we would prob try a different room type or stay somewhere else.
We did not try the breakfast, but heard it was fabulous. The pool was very clean & we enjoyed the hot tub. They have a wonderful outdoor patio, perfect for having drinks & conversation!
And parking is VERY close...right behind hotel!
