Crepes, Hammock Swings, and Quiet
5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 7 Apr 2015
I spent three nights at La Siesta Almendro for Semana Santa and found it an ideal location. Quiet, clean, and only a 7 minute walk to El Centro, museos, and a little further to Lago Nicaragua. Boris and his staff are more than helpful, they are generous with their time and knowledge of Granada in particular and Nicaragua in general. Do not miss Boris' crepes with sliced bananas! While I did not need wifi others used it with ease and efficiency. Safe neighborhood, lovely people, comfortable bed, and shared bath. Private bath is optional. Overall I give La Siesta the highest rating and hope to return one day.

I came to La Siesta when I arrived in Nicaragua. The Staff was super welcome and helpful. Lovely People..Great location...safe and secure...Room was super comfy...Fantastic Value for the Money. Internet is weak in the room...must go to courtyard to use. Definitely recommend.

This is a very nice place to stay, even is a simple place, the rooms are comfortable and very clean. Also the owners are amazing people and breakfast is very good too.

Some people think that is not possible to stay in Granada in a comfortable place for few money, if you come to la Siesta, you will realize that is not true.

It is located just few blocks from the central park in a very quiet street. I highly recommend it.

We were backpacking through Central America and traveling on a budget, so we have stayed in pretty cheap places that have a lot of character. I would not say this is an awful hotel, but there is really nothing special about it. The rooms were small, simple, and clean. The staff was friendly, but we had no wifi the entire time we stayed (it was down). There is a shared kitchen and a common area. The proximity to the center of Granada is walking distance, which was nice. This was a good place to stay, but it just didn't stand out to us.

I haven't actually stayed here but my fiance has - apart from being a great place to stay I just wanted to commend the owners on their amazing hospitality - he arrived at the hostel having had all his money, credit cards & passports stolen. They walked him through every step of the way (police reports, gave him some cordobas to get by until money could be wired to him) and were beyond wonderful. Thank you!!!

The place is so calm, run by very professional and helpful staff.

This place has its style, it is very calm and pleasant budget option. Nice rooms with bathrooms are for 25$. There are two rooms with 1 shared bathroom between them (the door can be closed from inside) for 20$. There is wifi and also a possibility of breakfast for 3$. Coffee is free and the yard has several chairs and nets also with quite big library.

Choose this place if you want to stay in calm, clean place with green yard, walking distance to the center but out enough to sleep in silence.

Also, it does not give sense to stay for 15$ in ugly The Bearded Monkey hostel (300m far) or for 50$ in most of other places nearby.

Enjoy!
