I was running a 5 mile race and wanted to stay close the starting area. Room was nice. Had a room with a kitchenette. Grounds were nice. Had area for RV hookup and laundry facilities. I walked to downtown Anchorage a few times, it was a few miles but enjoyed the exercise and the walk. The can ride was about $10 or so but I wanted to enjoy the sights while I was there. Front desk area had snacks and drinks, my stay would of been more enjoyable if I wasn't by myself and I had a car. I would stay here again! I was prior military stationed in Alaska so I was used to the weather and the light. So the fact that there weren't any blackout curtains wasn't an issue.

I'd read previous reviews that the place was updated. The rooms were but the outside was in bad need of a little paint to say the least. It was so bad that we asked to see the room before signing in. We were only staying one night on our way to Seward so we did stay. The biggest problem for us was the lighting outside at night. There were large fluorescent lights outside the rooms which remained lit the entire night. The window coverings did nothing to black out the light and was quite distracting for those who like to sleep in the dark! Since the area did not appear to be the best it was comforting there was good lighting. However, I think they could find a way to light the area without impacting the rooms. Room darkening window coverings, aiming lights away, smaller lights are just a few thoughts. After all, their customers are there to sleep...right?
Hello,
First I would like to say thank you for your recent patronage to Creekwood Inn. Secondly I am very sorry that you did not sleep well due to the light from the hallways entering your room. I will be sure to test all of the shades in the motel rooms and if they are not light tight I will install black out shades. We are still in the process of upgrading the property to modernize Creekwood Inn. We are installing new wood flooring in the rooms which had older carpet, we are replacing all of the beds which are older with new ones. We also will be painting the outside of the motel in spring 2015. We hope you will choose us again in the future so you may see our progress.
Have a wonderful day.

We stayed here with another couple 4 different nights while traveling in Alaska. From the outside it does look old (probably because it is!) and in more of a commercial area and that may turn some people off right right from the start but the rooms were clean and updated. We stayed in a suite with 2 queen beds and a kitchenette, had 3 different rooms all together and each was spacious and decorated nicely. It was nice coming back to the same motel as we only had to get to know our way around from that area once! It wasn't too far from downtown or the airport. The staff were all friendly and helpful. It was less expensive than most of the other places I had considered. I would stay here again especially since they are continuing to upgrade!

Clean but old, kind of creepy looking. Did not return to it when we returned to Anchorage from visiting other Alaskan venues. It is primarily a RV hotel and works well, I assume, for people in RVs but it did not satisfy those of us in our party - and we are not picky.

We stayed a night and were surprised at the amenities, the cleanliness and the very generous owner. Excellent place to stay if you are on a budget and want to cook for yourself. We had a car so could get to nearby places quickly although the Moose's Tooth restaurant was within walking distance. We would definitely stay here again.
