We've stayed in downtown Atlanta's Sugar Magnolia, sometimes in the main house and sometimes in the adjacent cottage suite, maybe ten times in the last several years, and each experience has been super safe, clean, comfortable, and enjoyable. I lived in Atlanta for twenty-one years, now in San Antonio, so every return visit is like going home. We're always so glad to stay in a fine Victorian neighborhood and home with all the best that the city of has to offer.

I've never written a hotel review before, but for the great staff of Sugar Magnolia I should have done this a long time ago. Jim, Debi and Josie have their own busy professional and social lives, but they're always around to make us feel welcome and help get us to the places and events that we came to see. Although there must be many fine alternatives in the city, we don't know what they are and can't imagine staying anywhere else.

We usually take the train from the airport terminal, walk to the B & B, spend long weekends with old friends and have easy access to great restaurants and atmosphere in Inman Park, Little Five Points and Virginia/Highland. Last week, we stayed in the cottage suite again by choice as it has a small kitchen and more privacy than the main house. We added the Cyclorama and Oakland Cemetery to our usual Civil War history tour, both within a few miles of Sugar Magnolia.

Room tip: All the rooms in the main house are great, but we like the privacy and comfort of the cottage suite.

We absolutely loved our time at the Cottage! It's was exactly what we were looking for, a little sanctuary for us. The location was perfect for a bit of privacy, lovely strolls around historic Inman Park, as well as, being so close to great shops, restaurants, and fabulous people watching in Little 5 Points!
The Cottage was a home away from home, complete with a small kitchen, a fireplace, and a jacuzzi! Perfect for a romantic get away. The Innkeeper, Debi, was welcoming and fun, we thoroughly enjoyed sharing cocktails, snacks, and boating stories one evening in the sitting room of the beautiful old Victorian main house. As if that wasn't enough, we were greeted every morning with a fabulous breakfast delivered to us in a little wicker basket by either the ever smiling, Josie, or the lovely Sam.
Our time at the Sugar Magnolia Cottage was everything we had hoped for and more. We will most definitely be back, and thank you again!

We stayed at Sugar Magnolia for a quick weekend get away to see a show and check out the Georgia Aquarium. The trip was short but our stay was Awesome. Sugar Magnolia is located in Atlanta's first suburb, "Inman Park". All Victorian style Multi level homes and wrap around porches. Beautiful area of town and being a few minutes from the city, our experience completely changed what our idea of Atlanta was all about. Debbi (Owner and Innkeeper) and her assistant Samantha were great to us. As someone who exclusively stays in B&Bs we highly recommend Sugar Magnolia. Wish we could have stayed longer. Happy Birthday Josie.

We loved this home and the location! We were able to walk or 5-10 minute drive to great restaurants and Atlanta Aquarium! Josie and Sam were so helpful. Sam offered directions and great ideas on where to go. Breakfasts were so yummy and filling. Garden room was my favorite room. So cozy and has the cutest private rooftop porch. We stayed in the Avery Room and loved the comfy bed. My sis and hubby are going to enjoy their anniversary there next month. I know she will enjoy it as much as we did!

After a year of being apart, my fiance surprised me by booking the Cottage at Sugar Magnolia and we stayed here for 2 nights over Christmas. The neighborhood is just outside downtown Atlanta but it is all beautiful Victorian houses and inns and is lovely. We arrived on Christmas eve received a warm greeting from the owners. We found out later that the whole B&B was actually closed but they opened up the cottage just for us and worked on the Christmas holiday which was so wonderful of them. They showed us around the grounds and lead us to our cottage which is a separate building behind the main B&B. It was adorable and cozy. It reminded me of a B&B I went to when I was little up in New England and I immediately fell in love with the place. The ambiance of the cottage makes you feel that you are in the middle of the country and is very warm and inviting. The entire suite is surrounded by windows and skylights and is flooded with natural light. The bedroom is located upstairs in a loft and is a really cool concept to have in the cottage. There is a huge jacuzzi style tub in the bathroom which was so relaxing, and I loved the fireplace in the living room which is actually controlled by the thermostat. Super convenient and easy to have a roaring fire! There is also a full kitchen with stove and fridge and sink, and of course a coffee maker.
When you check in you are given the option of eating breakfast in the main house or having it delivered directly to the room. Our first morning there we had it delivered to our cottage which was also Christmas morning. The owners' adorable mother brought us a huge basket of breakfast goodies and it was decorated with Christmas ornaments. There was fresh fruit, homemade quiches, pastries, cereal, fresh orange juice and milk. Everything was absolutely delicious and there was so much we could barely finish it all.
Our second night there we were invited in by the owners to have some wine and chat by the fire in the main house. They were so welcoming and we sat and talked with them for about an hour before retiring back to the cottage. The main house was decorated so beautifully for the holidays and their huge Christmas tree was lit up next to a roaring fire. It was a perfect ending to the night.
The next morning we came to the main house for breakfast and they prepared fluffy Belgian waffles with fresh fruit and syrup and sausages.
When it was time for us to check out there was no rush, they told us to take our time and relax. In the main office there is a big world map that we got to put pushpins into showing where we came from.
To say that our experience was amazing is an understatement. This B&B will hold a special place in our hearts as this is where we got engaged. I cannot thank our gracious hosts enough for making our stay so wonderful and so special. I foresee us returning for anniversaries and special occasions in the future.
Thank you for all you do!
