Located in the Tucson foothills, the views are spectacular! The hotel is historic, but has been updated with excellent amenities in the rooms, quiet, lovely grounds (lots of cacti), and facilities. Our room included a terrace overlooking distant mountains. The bathroom was so attractive I took photos of the shower.
The pool vista includes mountains and lots of cacti. The pool is small, but very nice.
The dining room is also excellent though we felt the menu was limited. The Ahi Tuna appetizer was one of the best I've had recently. My friend and I split an excellent breakfast (delicious short stack with terrific bacon); our server Paul was outstanding.
The margaritas were a disappointment -- Tasted like the mix included Rose's Lime Juice instead of just fresh lime juice RLJ ought to be banned.
The small fitcen is adequate as long as no more than three people want to exercise at a time and are each willing to use equipment available (treadmill, recumbent bike, & elliptical. A small refrigerator is stocked with cold water, and there's a TV. The large picture window looks out over the valley, so is a pleasant scene. They downer was that the in-wall A/C unit was making a constant high pitched whining noise that was extremely distracting. Reported on our first morning, not fixed two days later on our last morning. Probably a part, but the noise was really bad.
