Nothing really stands out here except that it is probably a good base from where to take day trips into the Khao Yai and Pak Chong areas. Like another reviewer mentioned, this an old place, and it shows in every aspect.
The rooms are of a good size and offers nice view, but the carpet has plenty of wear and tear, the bathtub has peculiar stains, the hot water is not always that, the toilet requires multiple flushes, big cockroach (found 1), etc.
The service is not spot on, with mix-up about breakfast orders common. No buffets here. In fact, the place is kind of dead throughout the day when I suppose people leave to sightsee in the area. There is no mentionable restaurant facilities, though they list a couple.
One thing good about Mandarin is that it is certainly quiet. If that is what you are after, then you will love it here.More
