I must say how fantastic this hotel/island is!! Went on honymoon late Oct 08 for 7 days. Arrived at Male airport (weather lovely) n& we had our own private speed boat to our hotel ( we were greeted with bottled water & cold face flannels with was very refereshing after a 10 hr flight!!

After 25 mins we arrived at the Four seasons Kuda Hurraa....we were escorted to check in, with another cold face towel & welcome cocktail. We were then taken to our water bungalow on a golf buggey..........our room was better than we ever could of imagined (huge) with a huge window with more than amazing views of the stunning blue lagoon & the sea!!!

The bathroom was fantastic too with a massive bath, a massive shower & 2 sinks. Also an outside shower on the wooden varander, steps to the lagoon for easy access snorkeling.

The restaurants:
Food in all of the restaurants were stunning, some of the best food we have ever tasted in our lives & we are real foodies!!!
Lushious cocktails
Excellent service..the some staff will go beond their duty to make sure you have the best staff ever...one waiter heard it was our last night & arranged a privite meal on a jetty (the best table on the island)...he wouldn't even accept a tip!!

Fantastic water sports, pools, amazing sea life, amazing staff...beautiful island

The only negative comment i have is that it would of been nice if there was some form of Entertainment as there was none at all!!

I wanted to write a review for this hotel because I use Tripadvisor to make decisions myself and thought this would help people looking to go to this property. I went with my husband and our 9 month old daughter. We had stayed before at One and Only Reethi Rah so this time we wanted to try a different resort. I think you need to know what you are getting with the FS Kuda Huraa. The main things are great service and beautiful rooms. Yes as previous reviewers have stated the rooms are not as trendy or large as some other resorts (the Reethi Rah had larger more modern rooms) but I thought our beach bungalow was beautiful and spacious. I loved the bathroom with indoor and outdoor shower and the bed was super comfortable. The plunge pool was always clean and the right temperature and it was a decent size. But it makes a HUGE difference on which side of the island you stay ... I mean HUGE. The sunset side is the lagoon side and is more like what you would expect the Maldives to be - calm clear water and white sandy beach with palm trees. It was very pretty and we stayed on the sunset side for 5 nights in 203. The negatives on this side are that you see the other resort on the neighboring island and also that this side for some reason has seaweed which stays where it is. It didn't really bother me because you see fish around the seaweed and I saw a lot of fish just swimming around including stingrays. We had to move the last 2 nights to a sunrise bungalow because the sunset side was full. The ocean on this side is very nice but its not a lagoon, it feels like an ocean. What is awful is the beach. The sand is GREY with a ton of small stones and broken coral. No way can anyone walk here or play in the sand. It looks sparse in terms of the landscaping as well. It didn't bother me as much because we had the benefit of staying on both sides but if I would have only stayed on the sunrise side I would have been very disappointed with the experience. The other negative is the price of food and drinks. I mean, I lived in NY and currently live in London and am used to paying a lot at restaurants but the prices charged here were bordering on the absurd. We have stayed at other FS properties and are used to the food being overpriced but this was the worst we have seen. That said the quality of the food was good, We liked the Indian restaurant the most, it was delicious. The main restaurant and the poolside grill (for dinner) were also good although one night I had a very dry awful red snapper in red curry that was not good and cost $40 USD ... We stayed away from the Italian because our friends had a bad experience there and the reviews seem to support this. All in all I had a great time and think the resort was good for what we were looking for but I would definitely not go there thinking its the picture perfect Maldives postcard that you get. The sunrise side comes close but the sunrise side needs a lot more work ... one thing I did want to say is that the beach on both sides was super clean.

We spent four nights at the water bungalows at the sunrise side of the beach. Maybe it was due to the weather at this time of the year, it was very windy but it was not so at the sunset side. Other than a day of rain, the rest of the time, the weather was good. It may rain heavily one minute but the next, the sun comes out, so you can still snorkel and enjoy the wonderful sights of the house reefs and fishes.

The room size of the water bungalow was spacious and comfortable and the sun deck also have an outdoor shower. They even provide after sun gel, can you beat that?

From the moment you arrive, the staffs seem so intend to make sure you enjoy yourself. They remember your names and make sure you are kept hydrated by giving you iced water and spritzer to cool those sun burnt skin. Even sun cream is provided at the pool area and sports centre in case you forget to bring yours.

We ate at all the resturants during our stay but the Indian resturant is our favourite, taste wise as well as decor. The only grouse is that the person who took our orders should have told us that the portions are meant to share and give suggestions since we ordered 5 chicken dishes at the same time. Breakfast is at the main cafe which serves an adequate varieties of food. However, after four nights, eating may be a problem since the choices of dishes in the resturants are not extensive and the restaurants take turns to close on certain days of the week.

The spa was interesting as you can see fishes swimming below you when you are being massaged but I was told that of course, it has to depend on your luck whether there are any fishes at the time.

In all, we had a great time there and will gladly return again, just to be pampered.

After traveling for 3 weeks throughout Asia, my husband and I stayed here for 9 days in May. We were tired from going from place to place - I was ready to relax and my husband was ready to surf. If you are a surfer, this is by far the best hotel option for you. A company called Tropic Surf runs the surf trips everyday, which was perfect for my husband. He was able to get in a morning AND afternoon session everyday, and the surf guide, Amy, was just the best. We LOVED her! It was a perfect setup because I could stay back at the hotel and relax in our suite. I never really even went by the pool because our private beach in front of our suite was much nicer. When we checked in, the hotel occupancy was very low, so the hotel offered to upgrade us to a larger suite for $50 per night. They showed us 3 different suites that we could choose from, and after reading other reviews, I can tell you that depending on which side of the island you are on makes a HUGE difference. One side of the island is much much nicer than the other. Also, I would recommend the beach bungalows over the suites over the dock. Although it sounds romantic, realistically it's much nicer to have the extra space of your own plunge pool and private garden. The dock rooms are exposed and less spacious, with a much further walk.

The whole staff was incredible throughout our stay. We were there 9 days but it went by way too quickly. We definitely plan to come back when we have kids - with their kids room it would be the perfect place.

I took a cooking class - and was the only one. Considering how expensive the meals are, it was well worth it. You get the class plus the food pretty much for the same price as if you were to only order the food. I really enjoyed it and the chef even gave me some packaged garam masala to take home. Loved it!

We knew going in that being on an island they would be able to charge anything they wanted for food. We brought plenty of snacks with us to avoid ordering room service or eating in the restaurants for each meal to save a little bit of money. It was worth it - a hamburger costs $29! Other than that, everything was well worth it's price tag.

The spa is unbelievable and we loved taking the boat over to the island. It makes it a more special experience. We had many treatments and loved the feeling of the open bungalow over the water, looking down through the glass window at the fish beneath you...Amazing! Well worth the money.

We can't wait to go back!
