Suffolk holiday rentals

Suffolk is one of England's largest counties, tucked away in East Anglia. A picturesque and varied region, much of it rural, it is the perfect place for a family holiday, and it can be a surprisingly low cost destination, thanks to a huge selection of rental cottages and other self-catered accommodation across the county. Whether you're sampling the bright lights of Ipswich, or enjoying a quiet break in Bury St Edmonds or Sudbury, there is plenty to keep you occupied throughout your stay.

What to do in Suffolk

As one of the largest counties in England, there is a huge amount to keep you busy on a family holiday to Suffolk. For beach fans there is the Sunrise Coast, between Lowestoft and Southwold, while hiking enthusiasts never fail to relish long walks over the muddy Norfolk Broads. Horse lovers and gamblers alike will insist on a trip to Newmarket and its famous racecourses (the July Course and the Rowley Mile), and there are dozens of beautiful small towns and villages all over the county, full of lovely shops, good country pubs, traditional pink-walled cottages with black thatch, and a real family friendly atmosphere. A little further afield, the elegant spires of Ely Cathedral are also well worth a day trip. And of course there is Sutton Hoo, the Anglo Saxon burial site which is now managed by the National Trust and can be toured at various times throughout the year.

Renting a cottage in Suffolk

With a huge range of rental cottages, houses and even houseboats available across the county of Suffolk, from Felixstowe to Woodbridge, there is a huge choice and great deals to be found. With prices starting from just £400 or so for a week in a cottage for a family of four or more, Suffolk cottage rentals tend to work out much better value than booking hotel rooms, and with many of the rental homes out in the countryside, the added privacy and space is great for kids. The younger members of the family have plenty of space to run around and let off steam without worrying about disturbing the neighbours! The garden areas are also great for some relaxing, fun, and low cost family games in the evenings!
